I have a J.G. Blount Co. lathe that has a 1-1/8" X 12 tpi spindle (both inboard and outboard, right and left hand threads.) When I got it there was a 6" faceplate stuck on the spindle. Anyway, that's the only faceplate I have and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could come up with some other faceplates. I saw a message a week or so ago about using a washer welded to a nut - so I took some suggestions and went to McMaster-Carr and located the right size nut - Not sure just what I'm going to do with it yet. Bottom line is that I would like to locate a couple of 3" plates (right hand) and a larger one for outboard turning. I just stopped at a local machine shop to see what they could do and the price was --- well, let's just say I could get another lathe with some standard threads and still have enought to buy a cup of coffee!!! Any suggestions, Thanks, Bruce
