Triangle stools and backstools

I usually don't like making spindle furniture, but my daughter outgrew her rocking chair, so I decided to give it a go. So, if I was going to make something, I wanted it to be really different and unique.

I found this very informative website about medeval period lathes and furniture. I saw the 'triangle backstool', and decided to make a smaller version. The website also has information on constructing springpole & flywheel lathes, amoung other period stuff.

I must say that I was impressed with the results. My daughter was more impressed. If you want to have a go at turning something different, check out the website.

You could even have a top with a curve to match your back.
