Hi folks, I have a few dead trees in my yard (victims of a major construction project a couple of years ago). They've been dead for about 2 years (we hoped they would recover...), and I'm wondering if there's any usefull wood in them. They didn't have leaves last year, and over the winter they all started shedding bark, so there's no chance they're still alive.
I'll be taking them down in a couple of weeks, and I can save stuff if theres a chance its good. Otherwise, it will all go to the firewood pile.
There is a maple, and a couple of oaks. They're not huge - about 18" diameter. I'm not going to try and turn them into boards, but if there's turning stock in there, free is always good.....
Anyway, if anyone has experience with this, I'd love to know if you think theres anything good in them....
Thanks
