Walker-Turner Lath

I have a Walker-Turner lath that I acquired recently. I have located the company on their web site. I think the circa is about 1950. Can anyone what quality lath this one is. It's a variable speed. I noticed that Walker - Turner sold to Sears and Kreasge's (spelling?) Thank you, Evon

Hi Evon, Do not under any circumstances use this lathe, Box it up and ship it me. BG :)

I have a WT that is from 1954. It was in constant use in a cabinet shop from 1967 to 1999. The lathe sold new for $99.95,I bought it for $50.00. The bed was upgraded to turn 6 feet BTC. And it has a stand made from

2" X 2" square steel tubing, and will hold up to 900# of sand. WT made very good quality tools at reasonable prices. There cast iron is of very fine quality. They are sought after by tool collectors. The only down side, replacement parts, and the spindle bearings. WT used an odd size bearing. I had to have a new spindle made, because we could not find bearings to fit.

If your lathe is complete and runs, chuck up a timber and have at it. If you have pictures,I like to see them. Jim
