wet wood stains

While turning green Eucalyptus bowls, the red color from the heartwood shavings is throw against the inside of the bowl staining the yellow sapwood. Any ideas to prevent this problem? Thanks, Joe

I don't know if this is feasible, but could you coat the inside with shellac? The shellac wouldn't be much of an impediment for the heartwood area - unless your tools are really, really dull. When you're finished with the cutting, you could sand off the shellac, do a light shear cut or flood the surface with alcohol to disolve what remains.

Only rough-turn them wet, let them dry, then finish turning them. Any stained wood will be turned away.
