Would you recommend it for a bowl turning beginner? Thanks
What is your opinion of the Sorby multi tip hollowing tool?

The Sorby multi-tip hollowing tool is not the tool of choice for a beginning bowl turner. A good side-ground bowl gouge is. The multi-tip is more for hollowing places you can't reach with a bowl gouge, like the inside of a vessel or vase.

Wouldn't recommend dedicated scraping tools at all for bowl work. Any edge can scrape _or_ cut, depending on orientation, but cutting produces the cleaner surface. There are some places which must be scraped, of course, but I'd work technique over tools as a beginner.
Any advice on grinding bowl gouges ? I've got pretty good at fingernail grinds for spindle gouges, but I ought to work on some decent bowl gouges too.
Thanks
