The Beader's Companion By Judith Durant & Jean Campbell.
I bought that as one of my first and I love it. Sits right beside me all the time.
I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to clarify what type of beading interests she has. My wife is interested in antique, collectible and jewelry beads. I'd love to get here something about old trade beads, too. Thanks for all of your help! Geotek
I liked _Beads: An Exploration of Bead Traditions Around the World_ by Janet Coles. It describes the history of bead-making in various regions and includes more-or-less authentic projects using beads local to those regions.
