Diane Fitzgerald Rocks!

I just made my first beaded bead! Got it right second time out of the gate thanks to Diane's "Netted Beadwork" how-to- book. I'm so excited! Now I wish I had used something other than matte gray seed beads, this might appeal to Alex maybe but....;)

I tend towards being a visual learner but between Diane's clear instructions and extremely clear and understandable pictures and drawings I did it and it was easy. Now on to variations using crystals, ruffles and sewing beads in between spaces in the netting. There's no stopping me now.

Next up, a netted bezel for a cabochon. Kalera I just have to win one of your cabs!

pictures???

Oooh! I just won a couple of her cabs - was wondering what I was going to do with them - I can see the necklace, but not how to get it done - I was thinking peyote stitch but don't know how secure it will be. Will have to check out her book - thanks!

You can see exactly where to place embellishments with this netting. I've done netting before but only ornaments and large ones at that so this is new territory. >Oooh! I already do that's why I decided to crack open the book. The first project listed is the lacy chain which I know how to do and then the easy netted bead and then the beaded cab and then and then....

Going to work through the book if I can. My beading experience needs to match my ideas. A little honing is clearly needed after a couple of failed visions.

What do you mean? The bead and the ornament are netted, Vicki but I just scanned another ornament I need to finish for you.

I did mention that too so the misunderstanding is understandable. :=)) That is the project I plan to do after I practice some embellishing on the bead.

If you get a chance, the resin beads look great under netted beadwork.

looks like fun! I've just gone through my bead books looking for some similar instructions and have come up blank - oh but I think there was something in a bead and button mag - will have to look for that.

Look in the February 2004 issue, not only is there a twist on beaded beads (pg. 98) but there's a instructions for a netted pendant (pg.

95) that is way cool!

Oh yeah, that's an excellent idea. Thanks, Beki

oh those are exactly what I was looking for! I didn't want to put a bead inside it and these don't!

And yeah, that netted pendant IS way cool! And I love how it doesn't use the leather backing that most of them I've seen do.

Thanks again :)

That's what I like too. I love the beaded "S" clasp too! Have fun, Pam.
