Which wood from Peru

Hello, My daughter is leaving for Peru next week. I might be able to talk her into bringing a chunk home. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I've done some work with Peruvian walnut? It has a much deeper, richer color than the American black walnut.

Customs might present a problem. My daughter happens to be in Honduras for the next six months, so I'm trying to figure out a way to get her to bring back something from there.

I just returned from a week in Belize & came back with 2 chunks of rosewood & one of zirecote(sp?). The only thing customs in Houston said to me (as he was digging the dirt out of some convolutions in the zirecote rootstock) was "No dirt & no bark". And then he asked me for my card after finding out what I was gonna do with it. So I don't think she'll have a problem bringing any back. Just make sure she declares it & I see no problem.
