AC Moore

Yesterday, I visited my first AC Moore. Boy, was I impressed with their line of yarns! I do have at least 3 LYS's, in addition to Joann's and Michaels, nearby, but I found yarns at AC Moore that I had never seen before. This store opened within the last 6 months and I have been wanting to visit it. It is about a 20-30 minute drive from my house, so had not gotten there before. DD#2 was with me and it was SHE who found yarn to use. LOL I said to her, "Happy Chanukah." LOL I was also impressed that they had samples of the yarn knit up into projects mounted on the walls over the yarn....scarves, mittens, hats, sweaters, ponchos, felted purses, etc. Is this how other AC Moores are? I know that they had some yarns on sale, but I really didn't do a price comparison with other places. How would you compare AC Moore price-wise on a regular basis?

Hi Janise,

I love AC Moore for their prices compared to Michaels, at least here it's better. Yes, they also have samples hanging by the yarns. I agree they have expanded their variety of yarns in the last six months or so. In fact I have to get there this week as I need more yarn.

Hugs,

Nora

We have no AC Moore stores around here but I wish we did after reading your report.

That sounds great, Janise! :o)

I've never been in an AC Moore. I know that LewisCraft *used* to hang completed projects up above the yarns... but now that they are no longer in the nearest city to me, I haven't been to one of them lately either. The only places for me to look at, or buy yarns now are at WalMart & Zellers in the nearest city, and a Stedmans store in my small town.

Hi

I really enjoyed my trip to AC Moore when we were down the states last fall when we were finished Janise and Nora.

I know where you went! :)

I have not made it there yet, but hope to soon (probably not until after the holidays, though).

And I am hoping to give you an email to get together someday.....but again, probably not until after the holidays. My head is already spinning!

Hi Janise,

I did get to AC Moore yesterday and came away with three bags full of yarn, different brands and colors. It was fun as usual. The kind that I love now is Lion Brand Jiffy for $1.39 a skein and it goes further then I thought one skein would. I now have about 36 skeins, three colors, Salem, Kitty Hawk and Fisherman.

Hugs,

Nora
