Does anyone have a recipe for cranberry (or raisin, or $driedfruit) icebox cookies that calls for OIL or SHORTENING instead of butter?

I need to turn out cookie dough logs for a soup kitchen, have been provided cranberries, flour and sugar. Butter is $3.50/lb and eggs are running $2/doz right now; I'm trying to economize!

Note: no such thing as "free"! The soup kitchen in question received

200+ pounds of ground moose as a donation. I know the head cook, who offered to give me some (way too much, he said) if I'd do some prepwork for him. He said he'd supply everything I need - which didn't include the high-dollar items, of course. I'm glad for the moose but I'm looking at $40 outlay if I have to use butter!
