You are welcome. I also posted all the info necessary for filing an abuse complaint. Am I the only one who file them? DA

I'm still here. I'm a 12-year veteran of Usenet and am not about to let a few trolls interfere with my fun

Now if I can just concentrate enough so I don't have to frog this lace shawl yet again...grr...

No you are certainly not alone DA, in filing complaints.

We have two police officers in our family, who I consulted about this nasty disruption in RCTY. I also kept all the posts relating to this episode, so I would have a reference to work with.

My Daughter talked to a associate in the States and here is a website to go to with any kind of abuse etc., you may encounter on the internet.

As you can also read there, there are also some behaviour traits we ourselves have to use and apply, when we visit chat groups on the internet, no matter where we go on the Internet, or what browsers we are using. It is important that we use the same courtesies we would use when visiting friends or family, stick with the protocol.

Nope! I filed plenty of them, and so did a few others here! There's POWER in NUMBERS! Noreen

Hi,

I reported them as well. But I am wondering, what would stop them from just opening a new account on google and start up again?

When you report something to google, you get a standard reply in your email. But how far do they go in checking? Do they notify the offender's ISP about these obscene posts? That would be the way to "Nip It in the Bud", as Barney would say.

I am curious. These posts have stopped coming. Have they gotten scared off, or do you think they were found out and taken care of?

They were reported to the posting hosts, the post were primarily coming from an Italian server. This is where I sent the complaints, along with all the header info and copies of the post. Reporting such post to anyone other than the server from which the messages originate does no good at all. It is quite simple to run an X-trace on a post unless the poster is using a server which strips all header information. They can get a new account and continue posting. From the tone of the post here and in other groups, I think that it was probably 10-12 years olds making the post. So unless they have a credit card, it is unlikely they can get another account. DA

I'm here (and got the invite for there and meant to follow it up but that needs the other computer and I just haven't got to it). Am just about managing to read every day but not post.

Life here is pretty hectic as you can imagine with an almost seven week old around. I'm not doing too bad on the sleep front generally although last night wasn't great. After a slow start on the feeding front Theo is doing well and I'm still exclusively breastfeeding him. The health visitor checked him again today and he now weighs 9lb 12oz (tracking nicely on the 25th centile) and his length is on the 91st centile! Looks like he could turn out tall and skinny like his grandpa. My parents are here (arrived three weeks ago) and their support has been great - they are staying in a friend's granny annexe

10 minutes away. The down side is that mum keeps trying to get me to tidy up the house!

I'm in both - also prefer Usenet to Ya Hell. Read Yahoo group occasionally, the Usenet group everyday. I'm glad to see most people stuck around. I agree with the poster who said she wasn't going to let some 12 y/o chase her away. My feelings exactly.

I'm knitting a pair of socks for DH, working on the bulky sweater for granddaughter and chenille shawl for me. That shawl will get done one of these days. The yarn was a gift from my sister, and she's very impressed with the shawl. ;>)

Hey, tell them from me that when my dd had each of her three, I went to stay and *I* did all the housework, cleaning, vacuuming, laundry etc., only played with the babies while she was resting or out or on the phone or something.
