A Bunch of carrots Original pattern worked with -cotton d.m.c. perle- and Hook 1.5 [European] But I have made it with thicker cottons and matching hook, Chain 2 st put hook into 2nd st away from it , 2 sc [ USA] and go on crocheting 4 rounds on this 3 st. now in the next rounds make 2 sc in each sc until you have 12 12 sc, work 4 rounds on thoose 12 sc. Decrease in following rouds by working on every 2nd sc [ and jumping over 1 sc] until you have only 1sc, finnish with sl st. on which you will now start your Green thread and make a chain of 22 st. turn and work 12 sc, [ strating at second st from needle, 1 slst,*10chin st , , turn and hook 9sc back, 1 sl st in the close chain st of the First chain,* repaet the part between the stars until you have enough GREEN , Make 8 more Carrots , let the hanging thread from start of carrott hang about 3 cm under it as Root / Bundle carrots together ,,,,, it is a neat Brooch , or an adornment for the Kitchen , when done in Dmc, it was meant to be sewn on kitchen towels/ instructions from Ariadne April 1982 page 39.
