Charity Knitting

Last week, or so, someone posted a link to a website with info on knitting for the military....socks, hats, etc.

Today a girlfriend asked me if I would knit for charitable contributions if she would purchase the yarn. I said, YES!!! I love to knit but don't have the extra resources to provide the yarn. Now I know I looked at a site that had the info including patterns and mailing address to knit for our armed forces. Would you please resend that info?

Thanks, Carol

Hi Carol,

These are the two that were posted, but don't know if they are the ones you were thinking of.

I've read regarding charity knitting and crocheting that really bright colors are needed, not only to try and bring some cheer to the lives of the homeless, but so they are more visible on the street. Dark colors don't show dirt as much, but many homeless are struck by vehicles that claim they didn't see them, so if you have any neon type brights, at least putting in a stripe in that color will help with their visibility.

That is a very good idea, Leah!

And as I don't remember seeing you before (and if I did, and already welcomed you, just chalk it up to a blonde moment. LOL)... welcome to the group. :o)

If you would like to see some of the 'family', just click on the link following my signature. If you would like to be added to the album, just send a jpg picture of yourself to gemsawriter AT yahoo DOT ca with RCTY Album in the subject line, and the name you use on here in the body of the message so I can add it to your picture. :o)
