I received three pairs of beautiful wood (oak) knitting needles with lampwork beads from my hubby for Christmas as well as a knitting pattern book.

Those sound beautiful! I got a silver needle case just the right size for my yarn needles and from my sister, a case with pockets for circular needles (I gave her a case with pockets for double points!)

Either way, that's pretty sweet. My DH wouldn't begin to know how to order me a pair of knitting needles. The reason I asked if he made them, is I've never seen oak needles before.

It's great to have a sister who understands my knitting stuff! And I forgot - I also got a ball-winder and an oak skein holder so now I can make those cute little yarn cakes.

LOL my sister got me the same for Christmas.....guess she got tired of me hauling my stash over to use her winder. On a side note she understands my knitting but she drives me crazy sometimes, for example she had never knitted that I knew of but after I showed her some of my stuff she showed an interest and the next time I went over she had knitted a sweater without using a pattern. She is a Fiber Artist and has done some wonderful projects:
