I'm looking for the pattern to crochet a white Christmas tree. I have purchased 2 of these at thrift stores. It fits over a styrofoam cone. Years ago, and I do mean years, I had the pattern given to me. Alas, it is now lost. If anyone has the pattern or knows how I can get the pattern, please email me.
The one I am looking for is done in worsted weight yarn and has scallops all around plus up the tree. I'd love to see the one you have if it wouldn't be too much trouble to email it. Thanks, Marrianna
Here is a link for a tree that I crocheted last year.

fits over a cone shaped airfreshner but should work on acone too. I did mine in green but could be done in white veryeasily. This has the scallops all around the tree that you talked about.HTH
Hello - I'm up in the Phoenix area. Herrschners used to sell a "kit" for a fantastic crocheted Christmas tree with scalloped branches. SC, DC & TC & reverse. Alas, no longer ~
However - good old Google has some
199,000 Christmas Tree patterns listed to check out - which should take care of your Friday :-))) (or the whole weekend)
Wow, that is an impressive lists for her to check out. Now, I don't remember seeing your name before so welcome and come back and let us know what you are working on.

Hi clutz! Hey... my middle name is "Klutz" (just joking of course) for obvious reasons! LOL Welcome to the newsgroup! I *love* Herrschners, but I didn't get my catalog yet. Thank you for sharing the website, that
Ok, ladies, I've been on the Google search list for quite some time now and I really appreciate the suggestions. Herschners has what looks like the pattern I want, however, it is a kit. Anybody out there in crochetland have maybe just the pattern? Here's the link:
is an ebay link which has two trees on them, but I am not surewhich would come out cheaper. I could not find the pattern alone, butperhaps it may show up sooner or later. I wonder if you can try to re-create the pattern from sight. Let us know how you made out.
Thanks all, for the cheery welcomes! I taught myself knitting, crocheting, counted cross-stitch, embroidery, etc when I was much younger. I do a lot of different crafts - rubberstamping (have about 400 stamps!, but don't find time to use them anymore!). And have just recently started dabbling in making simple beaded jewelry. My friend at work took a knitting class, but just couldn't "get it", so at lunch I showed her what I remembered and got the bug again! This Christmas, I knitted several scarves using a lot of the 'new' fun and funky fibers! Gave several as gifts and even SOLD one! Now my cousins and their girls are wanting to learn! I find it very calming in the evening after work and relax watching TV and just knitting away! I have a few of the kits for knitting fabric purses, but haven't tried them yet. Anyone knit with fabric strips? Any tips?
