Easter Morning

Certain somebodies have hunted eggs, gorged on chocolate, and are now lolling on the couch moaning about bellyaches. Shades of Halloween past :D

I have finished the body of and picked up the edging for a different, less picky shawl than the Cursed Pi.

I will, however, return up the Pi today and reknit the bit of edging necessary to finish the thing. For those who don't read my blog (and I don't blame you if you don't!): I was pinning the thing out when the edging's selvedge broke. This occasioned much saying of bad words on my part and my 82yo MIL sat chuckling in the corner while I pulled several dozens of pins from her living room floor. The shawl has been in time-out for the past two weeks as a result.

We had sleet off and on yesterday, and temps below freezing last night. I brought in the tomatoes (which I'm growing in pots this year and maybe I'll eat a few instead of the birds getting them all) last night to save them from frost. My weeds need to be mowed but it's still cold and wet outside so I'll stay in and tend my knitting :D

Gee -- I thought you lived in the warm South. It was 78 here on Friday - though it isn't that warm today and I live a little over two hours from the Canadian border. I think we have had the best weather in the country the last few days. (Our baseball team was on the road in Cleveland and got snowed out again)

Heading off for early church this am to miss the rush. DH is about to leave for choir -- they are singing both services this morning instead of just the later one.

DGD#2 and I have been exchanging e-mails as I am trying to determine what she might enjoy getting for her upcoming birthday. She is the one who has been knitting and crocheting - so I might make up a project kit with pattern, yarn and needles. I saw a cute shrug that she should be able to manage. She has made several ponchos, hats and scarfs.

I am finishing off a box of goodies to mail to Afghans for Afghans for their Mothers' Day efforts. They are doing baby and toddler things to give to new mothers. I have made some baby socks (out of left overs of sock yarn), a couple of hats and am about half-way through a wool baby blanket of the simple dish cloth pattern variety. (knit from one corner of a square to the other)

Next I have to start two baby sweaters for environmental auctions - one due in September and one in November. I am also doing socks for DH again and a silk sweater for me.

Good Morning. Oh how I feel for you Wooly, bad words would have escaped my mouth too. I have had a pi going for about a year now, I do a little on the edging every once in a while , but it is tedious for me , so I do it when I want to escape from the family. I would hate to have to go back after I am done the first time. I have the ham going in the roaster and need to get the cake baking for dessert. The kids are having a sleep in today as they start back to school tomorrow. I do miss the younger years when they were excited by baskets and egg hunts. Now they just expect the chocolate and moan if I forget to buy any. Today I am going to try to finsih up a baby onesie I am making for a co worker of hubbies. I made an heirloom afghan and booties and when I saw the pattern for the onesie in simply knitting this issue, I had to make it to match. Haop you all have a HOPPY Easter. Coggie

Wooly as you know Norther Illinois weather I would gladly exchange with you. We went from more than a week 20 degrees above normal to over a week 20 degrees below normal. I a three week period we went backwards

40 degrees. What is happening to us.

All said Wooly, may you have a very merry Easter.

Hugs & God Bless, Dennis & Gail

Who is the real reason for Easter?

More of a temp difference for us: Three days ago it was 85 and sunny with southerly breezes. Day before yesterday it started cooling off (high in the low 70s!), yesterday we had drizzle and sleet all day and into the night with temps in the mid-20s: that's a 60-degree change in less than 36 hours.

At least I've got plenty of woolens in the cedar chest - some of these people around here are shivering and blue in their flipflops and cut-offs.
