Have sent some pics to your mail box of cowparsley...hugz cher
thanks Cher, I know now what the difference is between your plant and my plant. Looks like I should get rid of the plant that is growing on my field. To bad that a handsome plant like that, needs to go.
Els
Els, maybe what you have is Queen Anne's Lace
Send me a pic of it Els and I'll try to identify it for you hugz Cher
I have a small garden that has become overrun with poison ivy. My Mom told me about the boiling water and it worked with my plants. Although, I had to get a poison because I just couldn't boil enough water to kill all that I have. Be sure to use gloves when removing the plants after they are dead. They may still be able to cause irritation. Good Luck, Carol in TN
I wish that was true, but it really look like it is Hog weed. Since the grand children may be here for the summer, I have to get rid of it. It seems to be very toxid, just touching it is enough to get bad blisters on your skin. We are going to get rid of it, with long gloves on, and poring boiling water in the hollow stems to kill the roots. I was told by Dinters to use round up, but no way am I going to use it. We do get our water from an aquiver we sitting on, not a good idea to use a poison. That is going from the rain in the drip......(Dutch saying LOL)
Els
Cher I will do that, but from what Christine told me, and the websites she found for me, I am sure it is a bad weed. A lovely looking plant but still a bad weed.
Els
What about pouring table salt into the stems/roots, Els? Someone told me once that doing that would kill a plant... I don't know if it's true or not though. *shrug*
*hugs* Geminithanx for the pic Els, perhaps you ought to send it to Christine as well as she knows what this hog weed is....yuk

looks like Hog Weed Els and I wouldn't touch it without gloves if I were you, nasty stuff for irratations and all that. hugz Cher
For now Otto is going to remove the leaves and i will pour boiling water in the hollow stems. The leaves are going to be disposed off in heavy duty garden bags, and we see how we make out.
Thanks Gemine
Els
Yes Cher we are all pretty sure that it is Hog weed, and what they call Bear claw or paw, in Holland. It seems to be very infasive, so we better get on with it.
Els
Yes we will do that Carol
Thank you all for all your great information and warnings. We will indeed proceed with caution. Wellington boots, long rubber gloves and heavy garbage bags. We will keep you posted and give you the next chaper of this saga as soon as this mission is done
LOL, Els
grows in thick clumps in fields and wild areas and some wild areas in ordinary gardens too...
