found a lovely stola with sleeves

While in Toronto, my daughter's neighbour came over to show her new purchase. It was a very fine machine knitted black stola about 120 inches long and about 30 inches wide. Off center, about 5 inches from the top were two tight fitting sleeves set in. The design is so simple, it is easy to knit up, or sew up. The two loose ends from the stola can be thrown over the shoulders or criss crossed in front and tied in the back. It was amazing what you could do with it. I have bought some inexspensive knitted cotton material at Desingers Fabrics on Queenstreet West, to see if I can make one for my daughter. When you bought 2 meters at the time it only cost a $1.50 per meter. Cheap enough to do a bit of playing around with. If it does not work out, I will cut the rest in thin strips to weave with. A win win situation.

LOL Actually, I was making blankies for Kandace's newest stuffed animals. I am too tired to finish number 3 now, though, so I will get at it in the morning.

I just learned about it last week, Mirjam. I think I may try it, but not to the extent that some people are doing it.

I do a soduko daily at the moment, because it's a challenge and I don't like to let it beat me! My newspaper has 4 sodoko puzzles ranging from simple to difficult and I'm on the intermediate stage now. They also have a super soduko at the weekends with some fabulous gadgets as prizes (I did so want the Blackberry but I couldn't finish the puzzle!) So, I must keep practising!

We just talked about it at school today, Mirjam, I took an easy Sudoku to school for a pupil. I told that I was "hooked for a few days this summer, sitting alone some evenings, waiting for DH to get to the summer house! But one day I just was "off the hook", thinking: Isn't it more to it? Some easy calculation, at least? Just counting to nine here!!!?!! I know some Sudokus are more difficult than others, but I did not get "the spirit" get "in flow" from it.

But we are different, and that is good! I for my part LOVE Scrabble, and my family think I am completely hopeless! LOL!!! AUD ;-))

LOL Why does it not surprise me that you would do this, Mirjam? /And I won't tell anyone!/

Hi,

The number puzzle bug has even hit our daily paper as they put one in every day now. I'm not even going to try them as I never liked math in school. I'll stick to the word search ones.

Hugs,

Thanks, Mirjam! I do enjoy a challenge, and it's not really about the prizes - I never send the puzzles off, even when I do complete them! But it is the challenge of learning a new skill that I like! Plus, as my husband is at home, he always gets to the crossword first - the sudoko is still waiting for me when I get home. :-)

Yes and it is simple. Make a sloper from some tricot material to try it out. Do not trust all the measurment I gave, because I looked at it more closely and may have not taken the measurments correctly. Easy to correct though
