You know what, Jan? I still owe threads to people, because I never know what to send.

Hi Penny,

I have your name down, and I agree with Jan, we could use a few more or you will begin to have the same partner as before. That happened last month.

Hugs,

Nora

Okay Katherine - shake a leg, just dig into your stash, pull out five balls of different yarn - and start cutting (grin). Nothing to it. I put five balls into a bag and am using those for most of my threads exchanges. When they are used up, I'll start on something else. It takes me less than half an hour to measure, cut, label, and set up the envelope for mailing.

I'm thinking I'll start knitting my Threads Scarf pretty soon, since I have threads from all of 2005..... thanks to all the lovely RCTYers participating! I have them sorted by month, in little baggies, complete with the names and notes from everyone I've received from. (blowing kisses)

Katherine, I understand as I am somewhat the same way. But once I get started, it's really quite easy as the only requirement is to choose 5 different ones and make them the right length. I just pull out some leftover bits that I'm not likely to use for anything else.

I've also thought of doing a scarf with mine so I will be interested in hearing more about how you do it. Another possibility is some kind of bag.

Hi Eimear,

I've added your name, plus Mirjam's too. I'll wait until tomorrow and if no one else joins, I'll put the partners list up.

Hugs,

Nora

Maybe I should do that. I'll think about it, for February's exchange. That should give me enough time to get caught up.

Thanks, Jan. I'll have to start thinking, as I do have many little balls of leftover yarn which I could use for this.

Katherine, I have a solution for you: send all your stash to me and I'll pick out what to send. I'll also provide long-term storage for your stash, since you have so much trouble deciding. - smiling innocently and opening eyes wide.... No? not buying it? :)

Seriously, send whatever you like, what you have extra of, maybe even what you're sick of looking at and can't figure out how to use it and hope someone else can use it. Nobody will complain! I tend to send two or three of my basics (worsted weight acrylics, shetland chunky, acrylic/cotton blends), a fancy or two (eyelash, chenille or mohairs) and sometimes the funky ones (koolaid dyed Lopi, mostly). I figure, although I'm not a yarn snob, any yarn I'm motivated to buy or use myself will be appreciated. What I DON"T send is something I don't like or can't figure out why I bought it or it's just plain awful.

If you need help, you could always ask for guidelines; colourways, fibre contents, yarn weight.

I've put your name on the list. Katherine, do you want to be included this month?
