I would like to hear comments on this yarn. I have a lot ready to make a very intricate many stitch vest and have heard the yarn grows while wearing or cleaning. Almost ready to start and wondering if any new comments out there. barbara
That would depend on the type of wool that is used in the yarn. The only yarn that I have encountered that "grew" was Maritona (extra soft merino wool). Knit a swatch, wash it and hang it up for a couple of days. DA
if you haven't already done so. Is this the vest pattern from Arans and Celtics that some of you wrote about awhile back? I just got the book out of the library thinking it might work for some yarn I have. I am just in awe of anyone attempting this extremely complex pattern. Just looking at the chart makes me dizzy. I've decided that my tweedy yarn would not be a good choice for it. Because of all the work involved, I would want to be very sure of a yarn's characteristics before using it. I hope you get an answer from someone who has used Silkroad.
Yes it is ; guess that was me. I am finishing up another shawl before I start but now worried about this yarn I bought for it. That is how I see it--very difficult pattern and not going to waste it on yarn if it is not good. Up until casting you can always change your mind ya know ! barbara who used to be in mn
