Knitting Or Computer? Computer Or Knitting?

It sounds like the way you knit twists the stitches, though the purl sts sound `normal'. To make decreases with SSK and K2tog look right, you'll have to do those sts with your right needle in front of the left. You'll have to watch your work more closely, but I find I need to in order to do the decreases anyway. To purl through the back loop, work the same as you knit, with the right needle in back of the left.

yes, it does twist the stitches, which is really only a noticable problem if i'm knitting something using both straight needles & circulars, because they look very different. fortunately most things that i knit that change from flat to in-the-round are felted at the end... thereby hiding my knitting quirks :) so my knitting is actually purling & purling in the back loop? hmmmm. good thing i don't see patterns i want to knit asking to purl in the back loop often then.

Well no... it's knitting with a twist!

Only if the stitches are supposed to have a twist in them. I did a pattern that way, though I think the knit ones twisted, the purls didn't.

I saw that in the paper...I have contemplated wandering over to check out the yarn selection (since I just started a sweater for my 2 1/2 yr old for this year)...I'm afraid it would still be too costly! :-)
