Knitting Or Computer? Computer Or Knitting?

Good question, Maggie. I THINK that I spend more time knitting, but if I spent less time here, I would knit more. One of these days, I'll time it. Of course, when I am in school, I am definitely on the computer more, but that is largely job-related, so I don't think it should count.

hmmmm... difficult to answer... some days are computer days, some days are knitting (and now I'm hearing "somedays are diamonds, somedays are gold")... but I'd wager it *computes* to approximately *even* for me. I tend to do a lot of research, and writing on the pc, but they're *very* knitting/crocheting "related" works, lol! HTH, Noreen off to type up two freebie patterns for my KaL-CaL members.... buhbye!

LOL! I find I have to resist looking at all the Web sites mentioned on rcty or I'll never get away from the computer.

Good question! I feel the same way as Noreen. Somedays I go on the computer and I am surprised when so much time has flown by. Then I have a real dilemma, will it be crochet or housework? LOL

I know I could have made more things if I'd stay off the computer, but I think the breaks do me good. Sort of like recharging the batteries. I get lots of ideas from web sites and from the great people here on this NG. Makes me wonder what we did many years ago without the web and our wonderful cyberbuddies!

Well, since my computer job pays for my knitting I would have to say the computer! But if you only count the computer time I spend not working I would say knitting.

Hm, sorry about the triple-posting. That was weird.

I have to admit that I do spend more time on the computer than doing ANYthing else. There are some days when I get so involved in what I'm reading and typing out, that I don't realize how much time has gone by and I haven't done anything else.

Of course, I tend NOT to do yarnwork during hot weather anyway.

Somehow I think I would have a *really* difficult time knitting while walking... considering that I knit with the head of my right needle held in the crease of my right leg while sitting. ;o) But more power to you if you can do it! :o)

My DH would say I spend way more time on the computer then I do crocheting, but he doesn't know that I have a project going next to me so I can do that if I'm reading something that's long or waiting for a website to load. LOL

on the note of knitting weird... my normal knit stitch is behind the needle, with the point going right to left. my purl is in front of the needle, also going right to left. i *think* a "normal" knit stitch is in front of the needle going left to right... but unless i *really* watch what i'm doing, i can't consistantly do that. so, how is my backwards knitting affecting things like SSK vs K2TOG? are there other things i should be changing in patterns to get things like left & right leaning increases & decreases? oh, & how does one purl through the back loop? lee
