Has anybody made the Kysmik Sweater Vest in The Viking Knit Collections? I have visited the Errata page, and there are no corrections for this pattern. (Although several for other patterns in this book)

I am confused by the chart for the runes as the pattern says "Center on 52 stitches" and I count the chart as having 78!!! Also, it says, "K like the back, but when work measures 30 (31) 32 (33) sts, k runes on the center 52 sts."

Wouldn't you measure the work in rows, not stitches?

I have emailed the Errata page, but could use any help!

Hi! I think the difference between the 78 stitches in the chart and the 82 stitches on the needles is because there are 2 knit stitches on the end of each row for selvage purposes. Mentally subtract the 2 selvage stitches on each side and you will have the 78 stitches. On the size small sweater when you have knit 7 3/4 inches measured from the bottom of the ribbing ( 20 cm) you will begin the rune chart. The rune chart is centered on the 52 stitches across the front of the sweater. Starting on the 17th stitch, ( or the 15th stitch if you subtract the 2 edge selvage stitches), work the rune chart and then knit the remaining 17 stitches (or 15 stitches if not counting the edge stitches).

Example:

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK-------------rune chart here--------------KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK-------------rune chart here--------------KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Sorry! My little chart thing didn't come out right on the posting. Just knit the 17 stitches, do the chart, then knit the 17 stitches on each row. Hope I made that clear... Marie and the cats
