OT - Just sitting here....

...looking out the window at the empty school parking lot on the other side of the chain link fence and was wondering why there are no cars there yet. Yes it's early (only 7:56 AM as I type this) but by now there are usually at least three cars in the parking lot. However, I just remembered a conversation I had with a lady on Friday or Saturday while I was in the nearby city where we were talking about how nice the weather was and how it was supposed to remain fairly nice (mild anyway) over the whole weekend. She said "I hope it stays nice all week for the kids... March break, you know. I hate seeing the poor kids having to stay indoors because of the weather."

Ahhh, I really should have remembered that (even without remembering the conversation) because this coming Friday is St Patrick's Day, and March break always runs through that. I remember because we had some really cute green shirts, etc for Matthew when he was little... and he never got to celebrate St Patrick's Day *at school* by the wearing of the green. ;o) Not to say that he didn't wear them other times... or at home on St Patrick's Day... but that was one celebration that he missed out on at school. *shrug*

We'll he'll be working this Friday, so I should look for one of his green shirts and make sure they don't need washing before then. He tends to continue on with tradition when it comes to holidays... wearing red and a furry Santa Hat at Christmas, etc. ;o)

indoors because of the weather."

Unless they've changed it in Manitoba - they made it really easy for Spring break planning here..... the last week of March. It was great when my kids were younger - we would go skiing at Lake Louise, and by the end of March it was quite warm. We could ski in T-shirts, and had to use tons of sun screen. Aahh, great memories. (Now, my DH is hoping we'll even be able to go skiing next year - because of my knee. We couldn't go this year..... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed)

Hi,

Our school kids had a week off in Feb. and will have another one around Easter in April, they actually have to go to school every day this month, poor babies. Some are hoping for snow days, but I don't think that's going to happen or I'm hoping it doesn't. I'm ready to put the snowblower away for this year. LOL

Hugs,

Nora where it's mild and rainy in upstate NY

Here in Houston last week was some schools Spring Break (My School District) and this week is others. Although ours was early I liked it because the popular spots were not as crowded as they are this week.

Plus we had better weather. Up in the 80's, they're getting 70's this week and cloudy.
