OT: my new job

Just wanted to update everyone about the new job. I love it. I wish it was closer, but the work and the people are just wonderful. I feel out of it, not knowing a thing about Jacksonville or people there, but it does not seem to matter. There are lots of travelers at this facility, and they are all about in the same situation I am in. - GO GATORS - Did anyone notice they won the NCAA title this year - first time ever?

Knitting is sporadic. Hard to come home and knit when I have just driven 2 hours to get home in very difficult and fast Florida interstate traffic. Working on my squares, though.

Hope things are going well for everyone and no one feels forgotten out there.

Hugs, Susan

Sorry about the drive and the missing knitting time. Is there any way of carpooling?

Susan,

So pleasant to hear that somebody (anybody!) likes their job these days. That's wonderful; and though the drive is exhausting, perhaps it's worth it rather than being miserable in a job closer to home. I can count on my fingers (and with trouble, at that) the people I know who are happy in their work.

It IS too bad to lose so much free (and knit) time. Perhaps that will ease up after you've been on the job for a longer period ... like maybe they could adjust your schedule to accommodate longer working hours and less trips back and forth?

Smiles to you, Eve :o)

Hi Susan,

I watched the Gators win the game, congratulations to them.

I'm sorry to hear about the long communte too, but if you enjoy the work, that helps.

Susan I watched the Gators, too. And I just read that Yoakim Noah is not leaving for the NBA, because he wants to stay with the team and hope to repeat next year. I remember watching his Dad play tennis years ago............ Hugs, Joan PS. I lived in South Florida for a while - are you talking about I

-95?. When I was there they had bumper stickers which said "Pray for Me - I drive I 95".

Yes - it is 95 that I take...about an hour's ride one way. I need one of those bumper stickers...probably should make it myself!

This is such a sports town. I love it. There is always something happening, but winning makes it wild.

Hugs, Susan
