OT - Need your support....

Hey, all. This is very OT and probably everything is fine ... but I could use your support in the way of prayers or telepathic energy, good thoughts or whatever you personally do to help and uplift your friends.

Ma Da is having a cardio catheterization this morning. His appointment was for 9:30A, and my sister will call as soon as they know anything. The doc said the procedure wouldn't take long, and I know it's more common than not to wait several hours past your appointment time. However, since it's 3 1/2 hours past his appointment time and I've heard nothing, all the stuff I've been trying to do to keep my mind from running away with itself isn't working.

Please hold me and my Da in your "safe place." I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Hugs and tons of thanks, Eve :o)

Thank ya, darlin! (Especially while you've got a headache and didn't intend to post more today! -- Thank you!)

Still haven't heard ... and I'm the worst in the world at waiting.

Hugs and thanks, Eve :o)

Aw, thanks SO much, Dennis and Gail!

Just got a call from BIL. Sister called him to call everybody else. Da's still waiting. There's been a delay at the hospital due to six patients waiting for the same procedure and then an equipment failure to one of the machines. Da's in good spirits and fine -- probably better than the rest of us!!!!

Ma and sister are starving as they got up and going at dawn (or before) and haven't eaten a thing all day but don't want to leave Da to get anything either. It's after 2P, and Ma doesn't do well without little "meals" several times a day. Da's fine without eating 'cause he often doesn't eat till very late in the day.

Anyhow, BIL will call back after the procedure's done and will give news on how it went. I'll let y'all know right away -- could be hours still, but at least I'm not scared by not hearing anything now.

Thanks TONS again for your prayers and support! Eve :o)

PS - Dennis & Gail -- did you change your "handle" here or is my mind that addled? (Probably BOTH, but ... well, you know!)

Hey again, all! I finally heard from sister. The procedure is finished, and Da is fine. They found no trouble in his heart -- actually said it looks really good -- which is good news and puzzling news at the same time 'cause they don't know what caused his trouble. Guess he'll be on the "testing train" for the next while.

Thank you all SO much for being here and for your support.

Hugs, smiles and thanks, Eve :o)

Glad to hear the good news. Cardiac caths are pretty good for ruling out abnormalities. There are new tests out, the heart cat scans, that are supposed to be wonderful in determining anything wrong. Not sure if they have them in your area. We have them in stand-alone rad facilities, but I am not sure that insurance is covering them right now. It may be something to ask about.

Take care and stay strong, Diane

Hello, all! Aye, what a LONG day. I'm really exhausted this evening when all I did was sit (with some pacing!) and be tense. LOL I can't thank you enough for being here for me.

Donna, you're right that this Board is exceptional at supporting each other. I knew without even questioning that someone would be here ... and never doubted for a moment that y'all would care. :o)

And Noreen, I know you had a splitting headache and thank you so much for still jumping right to my side to assure me anyhow!! :D I hope you're feelin' better tonight.

Pamjam, Gail and Dennis, Katherine, Diane and Gwen, I thank you for your quick response with prayers and good thoughts. Continuing them will surely not be wasted as, though today was good news, they've still gotta figure out what's bothering Da. Diane, I will mention about the heart cat scan to Ma. I actually think he might've had one last week

-- not sure -- they did quite a few things prelim to this cath. Thank you for thinking to tell me about it 'cause who knows, with today's 'round-the-mountain medical care, somebody might not think of it or just plain exclude it due to monetary concerns.... He does, fortunately, have a good doc and goes to one of the best hospitals.

Tryin' to relax this evening and will just hang around, stare at the tv some probably, and hopefully unwind. Hugs and thanks and smiles to all of you! Eve :o)

I just saw this now. I hate when real life interferes with my online life.

So glad everything went well. I'll still send positive energies his way; can't hurt :-)

Hi Eve,

I'm just catching up with the posts and I'm sending prayers your way for you and DA. Lets hope they find what was causing his initial problem.

Hello, all! I could just hug each of you to pieces. :o) Can't tell you what it's meant to me that y'all are here and so caring and willing to give support.

Ma reports that Da's feeling well today -- just tired. She's probably even MORE exhausted than he, but she didn't say that. LOL

I will talk with her (Ma) in the morning (Saturday), and hope to hear what's the next step to figure out what's his trouble. Diane, I will remember to question (and make her write down 'cause her memory's terrible!) about the cardio cat scan. :o)

Hugs and thanks to each of you! Eve :o)
