I have a doctor's appointment at 1 PM so I have to get ready in a few minutes so I can leave here by noon. Not sure how long I will be in the city, but I'll pop on a bit later... before Wrestling comes on... I have to tape it! ;o)
My appointment went well... it was only a checkup and to get a renewal of a prescription. :o) Matthew had to get a flu shot... I had mine two weeks ago.
However, while we were there, we got talking to the doctor who has been not only our family doctor since my original doctor retired years ago, but is also a friend of the family who always said that my Mom reminded him of his own mother back in Ireland... and he's Matthew's Godfather too. We were telling him how Matthew lost his last job at the call centre and hasn't been able to find another job since then. He said (his own son tried working at a call centre and it didn't work out for him either) that call centres are notorious for causing a LOT of stress and that Matthew should consider himself lucky that he isn't working there anymore. As we were leaving he also told Matthew that he could put his name down as a reference while searching for work. How cool is that, to have a DOCTOR as a reference? Matthew went straight to the Unemployment office and changed his reference list to add our doctor's name to the very top so that will be the first one everyone sees from now on. ;o) *fingers crossed*
Gem>> I have a doctor's appointment at 1 PM so I have to get ready in a few
Yes, I sure hope so too! It should (I would think) make some sort of impression that he has a professional (doctor) on his reference list. :o)
My cousin phoned me bright an early (not *too* early, I was already up) this morning to let me know that she had just received my letter that I sent, and to tell me that there was a big article in her paper (she lives in Toronto, so I'm not sure which paper it was in) about a lady with Fibromyalgia. Apparently she had to fight the system for a VERY long time until they
*finally* admitted that Fibromyalgia *is* a disease and that she definitely is disabled. My cousin is sending me the article and told me "Photocopy it and take it to your doctor, to your lawyer and give or send it to anyone else that makes those decisions and fight those b*stards. They can't do this to you! That's bullsh*t!" Actually the language came through a bit worse than that, I just toned it down a bit for here! Oh, did I mention that she's a wee bit of a potty mouth? LOL
That's great that the doctor told Matthew to put his name down as a reference.
Now, how about trying a google search for newspapers in Toronto and maybe you can find it right away. I don't know how many there are there, but I know pulse24 as Tom and I have looked at that one.
True! And her heart is in the right place too! :o)
Check out the link that Anna Maria gave for the newspaper article for Keith, Katherine. It's quite good, and I'm *pretty* sure that may very well be the same one my cousin is sending me.
It was not so difficult to find it. I selected news on the Google site and wrote fibromyalgia. I was lucky since the first result was the one we were searching for :-)
That is odd, Anna Maria... when I went to google and searched "Toronto News Fibromyalgia" a whole lot of stuff came up, but not the article that you found. I'm just glad you found it. Thank you again! :o)
