OT request for prayers

I tried sending this to the email address that comes at the end of the digest I get from google. So far, like an hour later, it has not shown up, so I am sending the way I always do, through Google itself. If the other one shows up, I will have learned something, but the request for prayer is rather urgent:

If you recall, before Christmas, my cousin's wife was diagnosed with cancer after a abscessed tooth was not abscessed. Since then she has been diagnosed with anemia, had several units of blood and now this:

>Tues:DCW called this afternoon. She had had the upper GI test and for the

first time, nothing showed up that she was losing blood there or from her bowel. They didn't get back to their room last night until 1: AM as she had to take two units of blood because she is so anemic and she said it took 4 hours for each one. They cannot start the chemo until her red cells are back to normal. The dentist will pull all of her lower teeth and may need to take the uppers too, not sure yet. She said DC said she looked like she had a wad of chewing tobacco on the one side of her jaw, it is still so swollen. They had mentioned something about the PET showing a problem in her bones, but she is to see some of the Drs. again tomorrow and hopes to find out more. Thurs: DCW hit her arm on a drawer in their room and it hurt so bad DC took her into emergency early this morning and it is bone cancer. They were just starting her first chemo when I called him at 7: tonight so she won't be through until after 1: AM. They tell them that this chemo will take care of all of her places that are affected, but time will tell. DC said she might need radiation for that later.

Your cousins are certainly going through a very rough time. Our good thoughts and prayers are with them. It is common to have severe anemia with chemo treatment. A young woman I work with has had chemo and radiation off and on for several years now and at one time her anemia got to the point where she was having blood ( at least a pint) given to her every week. It helped her a lot and she's doing quite well now. Has your cousin consulted with a dietition? They may be able to give her some helpful suggestions. I was put on a special diet to help with anemia and to help re-build my body cells. Please keep us informed of your cousins progress. We care. Marie and the cats

Aww, Susan, this is so sad in most cases... but to happen to people who have already been through so much is heartbreatking. Please know that my prayers have been with your cousin's wife and the whole family since you first told us about her, and they will continue.

*hugs for you* Gemini
