sending prayers, asking for some

Mar 02, 2007 11 Replies

Hi folks...

Not able to really read the group right now but wanted to let those around the country (esp in the severe weather areas) know that I'm keeping them in prayers.....the weather reports have been horrid....

I'm asking for some healing prayers as well......I'm recovering from rather unexpected surgery (thus, the inability to sit and read the group right now -- just posting now cause I can't sleep at the moment and was already up to take care of business)....we thought I had a twisted ovary but thankfully it was simply a matter of a rather large ovarian cyst.....I was actually cut open as opposed to simply a scope being done so recovery is gonna be a bit longer than my last surgery 9 years ago. Really good news came out of it: There were no visible signs at all of active endometriosis and the ovary in question doesn't appear to be damaged so fertility shouldn't be effected by this experience......

DH does'nt know I'm up and about on the 'puter right now but he'll be the one using it most the weekend (we in the middle of a winter storm...yahoo!) so if you want updates, mail him....(I don't expect to be checking my mail for quite a bit) at snipped-for-privacy@ncmich.removethisobviousspam.edu

His name is David....if RCTQ is in the subject he'll recognize enough to let me know it's from the group...

*HUGS* prayers to ya all for safety --

Tricia

Get well soon Tricia! surgery isn't fun at the best of times

((((hugs))))

Glad to hear your problem got sorted, and it was nothing worse.

You take care and rest! Abdominal surgery is never easy: I've had both a 'zip' (13 metal clips when they took my appendix out almost 30 years ago!) and keyhole, and it takes time to recover.

Glad to hear that the results of the surgery were good. Sending healing thoughts and prayers as you recover.

Sending healing thoughts and hugs from Tucson!

((((((((hugz for Tricia))))))) I've had that surgery!!! Do what the doc says, and get well soon.

WOW Tricia! I had the same thing about 30 yrs ago only the Drs. said I could not have children. Since then I have had my daughter 1 ectopic pregancy and 2 miscarriages, all many years ago. Since I am now 51 and through menopause, (yeah I know thats young but I started menopause in my late 20's) the thought of another child scares the hell out of me and DH too!!!! I had him snipped and tied a long time ago. I wish you the best of luck in starting a family. Tell DH to care good care of you but don't push it. You need chocolate and a few good quilt magazines. Rest and dream of quilts but eat the chocolate for me. I am diabetic and can't have any, wahhhhhh!!! Take care.

Michele

M - do you have a Winco (groc store) in your area? My DH is diabetic also, and I found him some chocolate covered cherries there, sugar-free, that he swears are better than the "normal" ones (not that I would know, because I'm a firm believer that sugar will kill you, and rarely eat any). But he says they're good.

Beware the sugar free candy if you're a newcomer. Some of the artificial sweetners like malitol can have a 'devasting' effect on ones digestive system. Take it easy until you know how your system will react and/or stay close to the bathroom.

Michele, Hershey's makes a pretty good sugar free chocolate which I purchase at my local grocery store. They are small bags usually on hooks with the bags of mints. Have milk and dark chocolate both. I also noticed the other day they seem to be expanding their selection as well. Couldn't tell you for sure what the sugar substitute is but I think it's Splenda. I've been doing a 'no flour/no sugar' diet for the last 2 plus years. Was finally disgusted with my wardrobe choices and I've lost between 60-70 lbs. with this diet. I still manage to have all sorts of sweet treats (candy, ice cream) just making sure there is no flour (that's the REAL tough part) and are made with any of the sugar substitutes.

Ah, good warning. I'd not thought of that.
