Take care, Dee! I was feeling pretty yucky yesterday (cramps in my stomach along with feeling like someone kicked my lower back a few thousand times ... likely another disc doing it's thing again, and my arms (shoulders and elbows along with my right wrist) have been really hurting the last few days) which is why I wasn't online much. I'm still not feeling wonderful (I

*really* shouldn't have done the snow thing this morning, but I am VERY stubborn) so I will be off here soon again today. I just basically wanted to check in so I don't get too far behind in reading the messages... but I don't think that's going to work.

Come back when you can... we'll still be here! ;o)

*hugs* (gentle ones) Gemini

Hi DeeDee and Gemini,

I'll say a prayer that both of you get feeling better much quicker.

Hugs,

Thank you, Nora! I'll hang in there... I'm too tough and stubborn to keep down too long. Besides... when Matthew woke up and found out that I had swept off the deck and a path to the gate, I was told to keep my butt on the sofa most of the day and HE would take care of the snow! ;o)

Ouch! I do know that feeling, Gem, my back and joints become painful when there is snow in the air, it hasn't arrived here yet but is forecast for this week and the 'arthritis barometer' seems in agreement with the weatherman! I've done nothing more strenuous than going out to dinner wearing high heels last night, but I'm paying for it today!

However, I'm still knitting! I've done the back and now I'm shaping the armholes on the front of the RYC Classic cafe "Hudson" sweater, using a large cone of merino double knit bought in a sale. My favourite sweater, to date!

I hope this pain will ease soon for you

Thank you, Gwen! Yes, I know I shouldn't clear snow... I am just too stubborn for my own good at times. I hate the fact that I can't do what I used to have no problem doing at all.... I used to be very strong (could easily hoist up a large bag of dog food onto my shoulders and carry it to the car from the store), so this takes a LOT of getting used to that I can't even sweep away some snow from the deck without putting myself on the sofa for the rest of the day. Very frustrating!

Thank you for the prayers, I really appreciate them! :o)

Thank you, Liz! Oh I really miss wearing my high heels! In fact I just found my favourite pair that I used to love to wear whenever I would go out for the evening (man, that's been a long time) in a plastic bag a couple of days ago. They had been in the rec-room along with a bunch of other stuff that my son brought up for me to sort through. I *know* I can't wear them with my back messed up like it has been the last few days, but maybe when it's feeling better I will try around the house a little for a half hour or so, just for old time's sake. ;o)

Cool, will you be putting up a picture when you have it finished?

Thank you... and you too! :o)

We get older all the time, Gemini!LOL! We have to admit that, I know how you feel!!!

When you are clearing snow, Your muscles in your back will hurt pretty soon! (Your fibromyalgia).( But I don't know if you have other back problems, Gemini!!! I have NOT, so I speak about the Fibro)

The only thing we can do, is to CONTINUE clearing snow! The best is to take just a little each time, (but that part is not easy when the snow COMES in Canada and Norway!!LOL!) After a few days we are much better, and can use those muscles longer and harder. AND it is important that we do things like that!!! Else we get even worse! I talk from hard experience!!

But WHILE it hurts, we are for sure NOT better!

I have made a "rice-ruck/back/shoulder/neck -warmer" to comfort me, when I have done things like that! and when it hurts and I cannot understand why!;-))

I used an old sheet, cut it like the upper back of a shirt, (double to be a rice-pillow), made "handles" at the shoulders, devided the pillow part into smaller "rooms", filled rice into them, not too much!!!

When ready; I put it into the microwave for 4 (+/-) minutes, I then drape it from my neck and down over my shoulders and back. I sit in good deep chair, I lie down at it on the sofa, or I go to bed supported by 2-3 big pillows... ... AND my warm cosy rice-porridge-smelling pillow ...( Yes, it SMELLS porridge!) ...and a good book + a nice cup of coffe, telling myself that NOW I must have done something VERY healthy for my poor muscles, that why it hurts!LOL!

SOMETIMES it works!

Hope you soon will feel better, Gemini! Aud ;-)

Blasphemy!!! I will NOT get older... EVER!! LOL

Yes, my Fibromyalgia.... but I also have Degenerative Disc Disease (one in my neck and at least one in my lower back... by my waist area). I actually think another disk in my lower back has gone over the last few days which is what is causing me so much pain in that area.

I'm actually not supposed to do any heavy lifting at all... and snow is heavy, so Matthew has to do it. I just mainly went out yesterday and pushed the snow off the deck and along the path to the gate with a wide broom. So I didn't actually lift the snow at all. ;o)

Oooh that sounds nice! I have my heating pad... and of course the shiatzu massaging chair pad that I can use. :o)

That is a very clever idea, Aud! I like that! :o)

Thank you... I'm sure I will be. I no longer have the stomach cramps that I have had for a few days, because I didn't take the new medication for two days in a row. I think that was what was causing the cramps... but that's okay, I actually have some other medicine left in the drawer from a few months ago for the same thing. I will try that tomorrow and see if that gives me any bad reaction. If not, I will tell the doctor about it and he will switch me to that one instead.
