OT: Thumb surgery date :(

Hi

As you can see by the end of the subject line I'm not very happy.

Yes I got the date for the surgery but it's 11 weeks away. Monday November 28th. at 11:40 am.

Now I just have to hope that there is a cancellation before that I can get a phone call.

The painkillers are helping me sleep so feeling a little better that way but today wasn't good after hearing that I had to wait that long before my surgery.

I am hoping that I will be able to get some knitting and crocheting done in the next little while, maybe slower than normal but at least it will help me deal with the rotten feeling. I have been trying to stay very positive but ths extra time isn't helping very much.

The one good think right now is the Creative Sewing and Needlework Festival is in mid October here in Toronto and I am going and taking

24 hours worth of courses. Something to look forward to and hopefully give me the opportunity to forget about the thumb for a bit.

I guess now I just have to wait and hope.

Oh, Darlene, I am so sorry that you have to wait so long! I'll keep my fingers crossed that there is a cancellation before NOvember 28th.

That is a horribly long time to wait. I hope the painkillers continue to give some relief

Darlene, I'm sorry to hear that you have to wait so long for your surgery. Now, if only you lived near me...my next door neighbor is a hand surgeon and I don't think his wait is that long. I do hope that you get some relief from the painkillers and are able to get some knitting and crochetting done.

Aww, that's too bad, Darlene! I will keep my fingers crossed that there will be a cancellation and you can have your surgery sooner.

In the meanwhile, hopefully the Festival will help to keep your spirits up and your mind off the pain in your thumb.

I am taking lots of classes this year Kniting Mittens Knitting Round Robin Crocheting Round Robin Beaded heart Intro to Petite Point Journal (Jennifer Aitken-Smith) another Jennifer cross-stitch course Jeanette Douglas course

I think that's it but can't remember all of them. All I know is Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday are fully booked, Friday is only an afternoon and Sunday only have a two hour course.

Yes I think I am crazy to take all of these courses but looking forward to it.

Now just hope that i will be able to participate in all the classes but if I can't I can still learn and do later.

Darlene, I am sorry to hear of that delay - to have to wait so long is frustrating to say the least. At least the festival will fill in a little time with fun things to learn. Stay positive and we will keep prayers for you going. God Bless gwen
