Is this the end of the line for RCB

I'd wondered the same thing, but I hope everyone's just busy.

I have only 8 posts and they are mainly adverts. So where have all the lovely people gone to who used to write here. I enjoyed reading the posts, looking at the new things being made. I shall be one sad woman if it folds. Hugs Shirley

I'm here, too, mainly reading. I just did a crafts show and went Christmas shopping for my grandson with my profits. Then wrapped alll, and had to go purchase a moving box to pack them all in to send off to Maryland. Went to get the oil in my car changed and ended up spending $200 for a brake job. Getting ready for a big music festival in January at which I will be a vendor selling my beaded jewelry. Put up my christmas tree yesterday and decorated, trying to get out of the slight depression that I won't get to spend my grandson's first Christmas with him. Just finished making several batches of rum balls, which will be presents for some people in my building. In between, I'm working five days a week at my regular job ;-)

Don't worry, Shirley, RCB is not dying, it's just in a slump with people busy with the holidays. It'll pick up again after the new year, wait and see.

Love,

I'm just super busy (worked 64 hours last week). I barely have time to read RCB, let alone participate.

I'm here...but better reached over e-mail or messenger.

Hi, everyone, I'm still around. Busy working, designing, working, Christmas shopping, etc. I have to finish everything early because we are going away on the 17th. I'll check in when I get back though... Meanwhile, I post on Wet Canvas almost every day.

I've had lots of personal problems, last week my daughter had to be rushed to the emergency room and had 2 emergency surgeries. I've been helping take care of her and her children - a 2 month old and a 6 year old. Plus working full time. I've been trying to clean up my bead room so I can have a space to work and create - thus the many auctions.

I've noticed a marked lack of participation in all my groups - it's not just here. I don't really know why, except that for me I'm just extremely short on time right now.

Hi Shirley and All...

I rarely post but I read daily. I've been super busy since late June when DH was in the hospital. It's been non-stop Dr. appts. and labs. He's scheduled to have a defibrillator implanted on Dec. 6.

In between all that, I've been beading cabochons. I just love this type of beading. I've been kicking around the idea of selling them on Etsy but I haven't had the time to check it out throughly.

It's good to see all the posts and hearing what everyone is up to. :)

I'm here. Having some health issues, but otherwise around. I check in at least once a week I think.

I'm here too. Nasty cold, and doing a lot of commission work for Christmas, none of which will ever have its picture taken. I was burning the candle at both ends making jewelry the last two weeks and it has caught up to me in the form of a cold. I will live through all this. Just busy as all-get-out!!!

Much love -- Becki

She's having a rough time of it... she had laproscopic surgery... and they have four incisions scattered around her stomach. Still can't eat much, pick up her two year old, etc... hopefully she'll begin to improve soon.

Christmas tree? Wish I had time for that, or even the wish to make time for that. I spent last weekend dehydrating a whole bunch of bananas (was only a 2-foot bunch, not like in 'the banana boat song') and still working on dehydrating more starfruit. I had 3 dehydrators going over the weekend, now I'm only refilling the old little convective one that I have time for filling a tray or 2 in the morning and a tray or two at night, just keeping up with the starfruit again.

Made 8 (non-beaded) crocheted key chains in my family's (in Germany) sailing club colors, 5 pairs of earrings, bought the li hing mui fruit etc. for the kid who will be with my parents this Christmas, actually even got a Christmas present for DH. Enjoying that I can cook again after 5 months without propane (leak in the line), took lotsa pictures of jewelry and and such, working on upgrading my website (have a look:

),

doing my part of the checkout of our telescope's instrument changeover checkout (also still working 5 days a week, but taking a break from the Sunday market at the moment), spending my spare daylight time picking wild passion fruit (between 100 and 300 lb/week).

I'm supposed to write a cryostat control system (make all the motors inside an instrument do the right things at the right times, and this isn't a simple one) too.

Will take pictures of those Christmas presents before I send them off ...

Maybe even after Christmas, once people got over their sleep deficit. Yesterday morning I overslept. My body said "I'm not going below 5 hours". Sleeping from 2:30 to 6 is not enough.

Hugs to all, Maren
