FAQ: I know just how excited I and most of us were to hit the 3 month mark when we first joined RCS. For that reason, as the new webkeeper, I believe that your picture and profile should go up as soon as I possibly can do it after you hit the 3 month mark. Since how soon your picture got to go up was a question of the preferences of the previous webmistress, I have amended the FAQs to indicate the following:
How do I get my picture added to the web page?
We know how exciting it is when you finally hit that three month regular posting period. Therefore as soon as you've been posting regularly (that is
1-2 posts on average per week) for 3 months and it can be confirmed by googling your name in rec.crafts.scrapbook, please email the following to the webkeeper: A. a picture of you or of you and your family B. your state/province and country of residence C. your birthdate D. your links (LO's, favorite charity, personal webpage, etc...) E. A paragraph or two about you, your relationships (family) RCS,. scrapbooking, whatever you'd like us to know about you. (NOTE: If you have not posted regularly in the previous three months, the webkeeper will delete your profile during the April 1, July 1, Oct 1, and January 1 reviews. Obviously not posting due to such things as absences caused by an illness, dead computers and the overseas voyage of your dreams will be taken into account).A. a picture of you or of you and your familyReplacing the other end of what was known as roll call and not reflected in the FAQs, is the removal of bios. I am proposing that starting at the end of March we will also need to purge the website of the bios of people who are no longer posting regularly with RCS. (This will keep my provider happy and is just as important as adding bios if we are to keep the website up to date). I have therefore added the following to the FAQ at the end of the "How do I get my picture added to the web page": (NOTE: If you have not posted regularly in the previous three months, the webkeeper will delete your profile during the April 1, July 1, Oct 1, and January 1 reviews. Obviously not posting due to such things as absences caused by illness, dead computers and the overseas voyage of your dreams, will be taken into account).
Your comments on everything website related ARE welcome. If there is a problem with the changes I have made to the FAQ please do not hesitate to bring it up here so that we can all discuss it. Also PLEASE LET ME KNOW your feeling on the following:
You will notice that our current FAQs under the question "When can I participate in RCS activities?" says that we prefer that a person has been a regular poster for 6 months to be able to be a part of things like NSSSF, Secret Santa and swaps. That used to be 3 months and was changed in Feb 2004 to 6 months. I have noticed that the norm we all seem to apply as host(esses) is the 3 month one, (recent scrapbox and Secret Santa) and that we seem to be insisting more on the regular (1 to 2 posts per week). Should I update the FAQ to reflect this change.
