FAQ: I know just how excited I and most of us were to hit the 3 month mark when we first joined RCS. For that reason, as the new webkeeper, I believe that your picture and profile should go up as soon as I possibly can do it after you hit the 3 month mark. Since how soon your picture got to go up was a question of the preferences of the previous webmistress, I have amended the FAQs to indicate the following:

How do I get my picture added to the web page?

We know how exciting it is when you finally hit that three month regular posting period. Therefore as soon as you've been posting regularly (that is

1-2 posts on average per week) for 3 months and it can be confirmed by googling your name in rec.crafts.scrapbook, please email the following to the webkeeper: A. a picture of you or of you and your family B. your state/province and country of residence C. your birthdate D. your links (LO's, favorite charity, personal webpage, etc...) E. A paragraph or two about you, your relationships (family) RCS,. scrapbooking, whatever you'd like us to know about you. (NOTE: If you have not posted regularly in the previous three months, the webkeeper will delete your profile during the April 1, July 1, Oct 1, and January 1 reviews. Obviously not posting due to such things as absences caused by an illness, dead computers and the overseas voyage of your dreams will be taken into account).A. a picture of you or of you and your family

Replacing the other end of what was known as roll call and not reflected in the FAQs, is the removal of bios. I am proposing that starting at the end of March we will also need to purge the website of the bios of people who are no longer posting regularly with RCS. (This will keep my provider happy and is just as important as adding bios if we are to keep the website up to date). I have therefore added the following to the FAQ at the end of the "How do I get my picture added to the web page": (NOTE: If you have not posted regularly in the previous three months, the webkeeper will delete your profile during the April 1, July 1, Oct 1, and January 1 reviews. Obviously not posting due to such things as absences caused by illness, dead computers and the overseas voyage of your dreams, will be taken into account).

Your comments on everything website related ARE welcome. If there is a problem with the changes I have made to the FAQ please do not hesitate to bring it up here so that we can all discuss it. Also PLEASE LET ME KNOW your feeling on the following:

You will notice that our current FAQs under the question "When can I participate in RCS activities?" says that we prefer that a person has been a regular poster for 6 months to be able to be a part of things like NSSSF, Secret Santa and swaps. That used to be 3 months and was changed in Feb 2004 to 6 months. I have noticed that the norm we all seem to apply as host(esses) is the 3 month one, (recent scrapbox and Secret Santa) and that we seem to be insisting more on the regular (1 to 2 posts per week). Should I update the FAQ to reflect this change.

If you have a suggestion for the website or would like to contribute a page or an article, please email me at itsmcsemail-rcsATyohooDOTcomREMOVETHIS

Thanks, your webkeeper,

Thanks M-C. Here at work we have a wonderful lady who keeps us festive. She has all kinds of stuff at home and every season or holiday she decorates this cabinet. What we all want to know at work is where she keeps it all. She didn't even bring all of her nutcrackers to work. And the best thing is that this is her 3rd or 4th Christmas with us at work and she always does something different. Never the same. I want to go to one of her garage sales!

Oh, and by the way. That's only about 5 in that picture. On the counter here at work there are about 40 or more nutcrackers.

I still have to get a pic & profile to you. LOL One would think I could do that! I will do my bestest to get that done this weekend.

The changes to the FAQ are just fine with me. I think changing the limit for participation purposes from 6 months to 3 months just might encourage people to get involved. I agree with the definition of regular posting being 1-2 posts in a week. Of course, we always need to take into account those circumstances that are beyond one's control.

Keep up the good work, MC!

I can use the picture of you that I took in the craft room, that's not a problem. Just need a little something about you. If you refer to the age of your children, may I suggest that you talk about year born rather than age? That way your profile doesn't go stale as fast.

Shaz, I'm not trying to take anyone off. I just have to find a way to keep the list current. Shelley used to do a call every few months and remove the people that didn't answer. I thought it would be easier if I just checked google for the posts, as I've had people that were surprised they had been dropped when I took over the website. People sometimes miss the posts.

Is there is no other way besides google for you to post? Outlook or something? I know that I post using google when I am on the road . For me it isn't the posting that drives me nuts it's the reading cause it is always behind by a day or two.

At any rate here is hoping that things are looking up for you.
