OT: visit with "frandy" our fam nickname for Fran and Andy (my cousin)

Oh my gawd we had the most fantastic day with Fran and Andy! And in two weeks, we'll see each other again! For those who don't know, Fran is more like a sister than a cousin to me... we have a very close connection, have had it since childhood, and it remains an invisible chain between us. I was even able to drink a couple of BEERS with Fran, and never 'hankered' for a cigarette!!! More when I'm less tired. OH, before I go, I gave Fran a handmade lace faroese shawl, and SHE LOVED IT! ... g'nite, Hugs, Noreen

That's right - not only am I certain it was a lovely gift - it was enhanced because it was from someone who she cared about and who she will think of with pleasure when she wraps in it. It takes someone who can sense the love in the stitches to really treasure a handcrafted gift. I am learning not to waste them on people who can't appreciate that.

Oh, well, that's OK, then. And at least we are going to be knitting one together next month, correct? I have a yummy blueberry yarn for mine. What colour will you be using?

I know exactly what you mean about your time together not lasting long enough. I felt the same way about my visit with Linda... and each time we talk on the phone too.

Most of our phonecalls last 1 1/2 to 2 hours (still doesn't feel long enough and we both hate to end it), but our last phonecall was only about a half hour long due to the fact that Linda wasn't feeling well and the medication was making her very groggy and needing sleep. Hopefully the newly adjusted medications will be better for her.

Anyway, glad you did have a nice visit with your cousin... and that you'll be seeing each other again when you head north.

Noreen, I'm sorry you got negative feedback from your mother about your handmade gifts to her, but I'm happy that your cousin showed such appreciation for your gift to her. Can we see the shawl you made for her, or have we already and I missed it?
