I did, there's a whole list of it, back in September, search the archives... I know that at that time I was still posting as Noreen's Knit*che rather than as The YarnWright.... Hugs, Noreen and responses were mostly from Nora and Gem...

LOL! Noreen

btw, I have a post today entitled Katrina Relief goes on, AND ADDENDUM to Katrina Relief goes on...

That was ME, in September (archival searches, look for Noreen's Knit*che rather than The YarnWright), and here's info for Biloxi, Mississippi: (posted earlier as: Katrina relief goes on, by moi)

Someone asked, so here's SOME info:

As of December 17th, my good online friend Gina Renay, a Biloxi MS survivor, posted the following on her blog: Knitters, crocheters, stitchers.... Afghans, blankets, prayer shawls, etc are still desperately needed in the Biloxi MS area. Your much appreciated donations can be sent to:

The Fox Den c/o Mr. Randy May

2nd Street @ Menge Av Pass Christian, MS 39571

who will distribute your love gifts personally.

(then, I posted the following ADDENDUM:)

A few people have had trouble getting packages accepted by UPS for the Fox Den since the address is displayed as the corner of two streets rather than a street number on one street. The staff at the Fox Den deeply thanks you for your gifts and tell that they will be moving in 2 weeks to a new location. For those of you who will be shipping items in January, here is the address of a volunteer group that distributes needed supplies to 300-400 people a day who are still living in tents, trailers and cars:

Kay Ladner North Hancock Recovery Center

298291 Hwy 603 North Perkinston, MS 39573

Hope that helps! Hugs, Noreen

... don't give until it HURTS, give until it HEALS....

Thank you for this!

It's not the one I had seen, but I appreciate it just as much Noreen!

:D you're welcome! the other ones were for specific people who were 'deliverers/deliverors' (?) via the Sal. Army and Red Cross,as well as the Cloths for Katrina group, if that helps narrow your search in the September archives! Hugs, Noreen

Hi Sandra,

Are you by any chance thinking of the list that had all the different kinds of group, like the Native American Indians and Afghans for Africa and others. I do remember that one too, and will search for it. I found the one Noreen had posted for the Katrina relief, but I don't think that was what you were looking for.

It was someone who had a freind that taught craft classes, like quilting lap blankets etc, and the freind did not know what to do with these finished items... the person was surprised to discover the freind did not even know such things could be contributed to groups who accept hand crafted items for distribution to needy/worthy causes.

She then offered to send a list of such groups to anyone who did or had crafted items - 'send me a description of your projects' - like that...

Can't beleive it slipped off the server already - just me being blind ;-)

And the 'archives'? They are on a web site? or?

nope, you are right. But I have that now, and appreciate it :-)

This was a note from a person here who had her own list, and would send it to you if you wanted it, just email her...

Now I want it, I can't find it, go figure...

I did the Google search and found that Laura J had posted two links for groups. Here are the urls for them.

formatting link
should be able to past these into your browser and get the lists. Was that what you were looking for?

Oh good, when I posted this it didn't seem like the links were alive - but they are. So you can just click - no need to past in.

Thanks for the original post, Laura J.
