My Scotch-Irish Mother told me that good Whisky is Scottish; bad Whiskey is "Scotch".

That's right, Noreen. And Bourbon is "whiskey", too, isn't it?

Higs, Katherine (Who used to have a Jack Daniels every afternoon after class while studying in Calgary. Ah, the memories! Just the one shot, and sipped slowly. )

I never heard that, Aaron. But my mother used to say, "There is no such thing as a bad whisky, but some are better than others."

Yes, Bourbon IS *whiskey*, and yes, Jack must be sipped. Now, Jim, on the other hand, goes down quicker, it's smoother, I will admit (don't tell Don, it's a fun 25 year "argument", LOL) Hugs, Noreen

Els, I think "Howe'er" is a shortening for "However". It's one of those poetic things. Does that make sense in the context? Love & higs Christine

No, I did not know that, Els. What was it? Howe'er means "however". It is usually used in poetry.

Christine, I guess they want me to find another word for however. I first thought that they were looking for the hockey player Gordie How, and that they made it in some sort of plural form. Some of the clues, demand very strange answers, and sometimes I think incorrect answers.

Thanks for the help. It may be just the thing to finish the puzzle
