No, no, no. That was Sioned.

It's 'Sinead' with an accent on the e and it's pronounced 'Shin-ayd'

I've also come across a girl called Shivaun, after Shiva.

Sheesh. I knew that, too, but I've been reading a Melanie Rawn book and one of the characters is named Sioned and I got confoozled.

Funny, I remembered this a.m. that it was Sinead......... oh well, I was sorta close. ;>)

Shelagh

Siobhan is pronounced Shivaun.

Re-reading, actually. Starting with 'The Dragon Prince' and will go through the whole series. Again. I like that series a lot. :)

*That's* why 'Sioned' seemed familiar to me!

Eimear - couldn't remember what a 'Sith" was the other day, either

X-no-archive: yes "Ophelia" wrote

Yes, I know. The reason I made the comment was that, being Irish-born and raised, I knew many Siobhans and found it interesting that this young lady from India had an identical-sounding name in a completely different context. When she spelled it for me it made complete sense.

Eimear
