Searching for a pattern....

Hi everyone. I hope you don't mind me posting here. I have looked everywhere on the internet for help but can't find anything, so i am coming to you all in hopes someone can help me out. I started teaching a few friends at work on how to crochet, which is going great they are doing wonderful. :o) THere are two girls in there that have done crochet in the past and are just coming to refresh themselves. One of the girls made a beautiful afghan with the afghan stitch, she just has the panels however she lost the pattern and doesnt' know how to join them together with the proper stitches. It was a kit that she had bought in the 80's she doesnt' remember where she bought it from, it is African Violets Afghan stitch blanket, it is beautiful, there are three panels. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Can anyone help me find this pattern? Any help will be greatly appreciated :o)

Thanks so much, Tammy

There are lots of good ways to join strips of crochet. There's no need to follow the original pattern. A lot would depend on how the edges are. Are they the row ends of double crochet or half double crochet, or have they been finished with a round of single crochet? Are they even or wavy?

HI all, the ladie does want to follow the pattern from her kit, however she can't find it, and you really can't just crochet the panels together because it doesn't look right. I will try to post a pic and then let you see the site. :o) thanks alot
