Sirdar Wow - unravelling

I got 9 balls of Sirdar Wow, a thick (7mm needles) chenille, and a pattern as a gift. I took a LOT of care with the ends as this yarn is very loose and I've nearly finished a sweater. Now I see that at a join, even though I've knotted it carefully as per the instructions and with extra knots too, the threads are falling out, leaving the cotton core and a bare patch. The bald area is growing - and that's before I've even finished! Goodness knows what would happen if I tried to wear it/wash it! I'm not an idiot and have knitted several sweaters etc before. Does anyone think Sirdar/Hobbycraft will/should give me a refund? There's no way I could have been any more careful! Anyone else had similar problems? Cheers,

Chenille tends to have issues - it worms, it sheds, it sheds some more. Did I mention it sheds?

Howesomever, it sounds as if you have a particularly nasty case of disintegration. At the very least you should write to the manufacturer (with a cc to the vendor) and let them know what's going on.

Find out where it was bought and bring it back to the shop . You will get a credit note or the money back.... Sirdar wll reimburse the shop ...Wow yarn is very hard to use and it is very expensive too .

I've knitted a poncho using WOW, and I didn't have this problem, so it sounds like it could be a problem batch. Can you get in touch with them and ask for advice? They have a website - try either

(I can't remember which).
