Sooooo

I only have one Christmas present on the go and it's an afghan for my nephew. I have all the squares crocheted, all 99 of them but now need to sew ends in and crochet it all together.

Now my hope is my thumb behaves itself long enough that I can get it finished before Christmas and before the surgery.

I think this is a problem facing us with lots of small stores, they don't like the responsibility either, and it is a lot, if someone was to steal it for instance, they'd feel they had to replace it and that would mean extracost to them, and some already have a chosen charity whom they are sticking with. Over here our storekeepers especially larger stores like Asda/Walmart do one charity a year, so you have to get in early even January to ask for a box for the following Dec....

Anyway don't worry about it....if you see one pop something in it and you've then done your bit...

I'm half way through crocheting a double blanket for a friend as a housewarming/Christmas present. I guess I've got another couple of months work in it so I'm going to do my best to complete it in time for Christmas. I'm working on it every evening.

If it wasn't for a good friend, I'd be tempted to keep it for myself as I think it looks lovely. I'll post some pictures of it after Christmas when it has been finished and after I have given it away. I don't want her to see it before she opens the present! :o)

I have decided that I'm not giving traditional Christmas presents this year. Instead I am knitting for "Global Warmth" and will send the items in their names.

oh goody....piccies.....lol

What an excellent idea! I'll have to trot that by DH to see if it would work for his family.
