Los Lobe Hose!

First earring done and I'm wearing it! I just wish I could get the digital camera working to show you all. I got the kit from Patternworks and boy is it hard working with those teeny weeny 0000 needles. And of course my husband whooped when he saw what I was hunched over and squinting at. I used the Autumn variegated Red Heart sport yarn and the stripes came out beautifully. It's a good thing I bought the extra earring hooks; I know at least three knitters who are going to get these for Xmas/birthday presents!

And I got home from work, soaked from a thunderstorm, to find that my darling husband had scrubbed out all the burned-on duck from the roaster.

Hallelujah!

Well, it doesn't really. A size 0 is smaller than a size 1, a size 00 is smaller than that, and so on. I've knitted socks with size 00 needles before (steel Skacels) before but the 0000s were like working with sewing needles! Well, OK, darning needles.

You can see a picture of the sock earr> what size needle does the 0000 measure up to a size 1,or 2 needles. Stella >

Size 000 is about 1.5 mm.

Congratulations on the earring(s)!

I've just turned the heel on the second one! Two at a time is more than enough for my bifocal'd eyes. The other pairs will have to wait until I've recovered. But I'm determined to wear these to work tomorrow.

Aren't they something? One tip: if you're using Luster Sheen like I did, you will HAVE to get a crochet hook for picking up stitches at the gusset, and for knitting or purling 2 together. I could NOT do that with the needles; the yarn was too stiff.

Yeaaaaahhhhhhh - I used teeny needles like that to knit a beaded amulet in the shape of a butterfly. It took me three days of concentrated work, which included stringing the beads first! Can we say "cramped hands", and magnifier reading glasses??

Those little earrings are darling. Hmmmm, maybe I can fudge my own sock pattern and try making a pair myself, since I already have the needles.

Four gold stars for him!!! What a dear!!

Hi Spampot,

I can see why your eyes would be crossed, they are adorable. Thanks for the site I've just gone in and requested a copy of their catalog as I haven't got one in years. Tell your DH he needs you to make something for him for all that hard work he did scrubbing out the roaster.

Hugs,

Nora who got over four inches of rain yesterday.

...and when I ordered the earring kit, I was taken by the beaded bracelet kit, but you can bet it'll be a loooong time before I have the courage to open that kit!

Yep!

Well, Nora, it was my making him a nice (?) duck dinner that led to the need to scrub out that roaster, so we're calling it even. ;)

Yes, we've had torrential rains and the yard is a swamp...but today it got up to 62 so I put my boots on as soon as I got home from work and moved a few bulbs around...and pulled up some sprouting dandelions and thistles :(

Hi Spampot,

I won't tell my DH that you pulled up some dandelions as he loves them and I'm not allowed to pull them until they are just about ready to go to seed.

Hugs,

Nora

Well, I can't deny that the flowers are pretty...but until I retire, I won't be able to hover over the entire yard waiting for them to start looking ragged before I dig up the clumps. ;) I'm fighting quite a battle between them and the invasive Canadian thistles.

Sounds like your DH makes lemonade when life hands him lemons!

Hi Jenn,

Oh he would love that, he said if they were weeds why do they have such a beautiful flower? He said people have other wild flowers and don't dig them up just dandelions.

Hugs,

Nora
