That really is cool, Lee! :o) Once he sees the completed item that *he* made, it will likely make him even more interested in learning more yarn crafts.

earlier today we were making bead 'candy canes' (pipe cleaners & plastic tri-beads) & he was telling me he wanted to learn to knit with needles. then we went out to a local craft/toy/hardware/pet store & he saw the knitting frames. he said he learned to use one at school & could he *pleeeeeeese* have one, so i got him a red one (next to smallest size). gave him a skein of acrylic chunky yarn & off he went :) he is also learning to weave at school, but i'm not supposed to know... i think it's a holiday surprise. he can sew too. he's also very interested in learning to spin, but i don't think he's quite got the coordination going for that yet. lee

Hi Lee,

That's great that he is learning all the different crafts and takes such an interest in them. Lets hope it continues for years to come.

Hugs,

Nora

Isn't that great? It's surprising the number of children that want to learn crafts. Both of my sons learned sewing and one of them got into cross stitch too! I am a stong believer in letting kids have the time to *create* and be proud of their accomplishments. Marie and the cats
