Katherine i am BLUSHING all over ,,,,, I like my own style [= my own made ] clothes , but i do take into consideration , not to offend groups that might be offended by too much bare arms etc,,, thus if i have short sleeves , but am intended to visit such a place i will always have an added cover for my arms etc... But you are right with time i developed my own tastes , and in thes point am independent. My various friends and colleagues adviced me last weeks to sew the Silk
+beads + embroidery , into a jacket , or a wide dress , i made the skirt i intended , wore it with a cream coloures shirt and felt ok ,,,, I have a very strange rule about clothing. i must FEEL so much ok in it , that after a moment i forget having it on ,,,, and carry on with what ever i do .... it was/is bad enough i have to lcture in public ,,, i don`t l;ike thinking about how i look ... if i forget to think about it , than it probably looks good. Many artists wear black , i feel awful in black , i feel great in colors, Thus after several discuissions like that i STOPPED reacting or listening to this remark , about "Must wear Black " For creative people i find this a very strange `rule` .... Thus Katherine i am not so strong , and i do care what others say , but it should be reasonable. Must wear black in opening isn`t , Not be too bare in ceratin publics is reasonable. All the Um el Fahem artists go around with well covered heads , which is their way of life, they accept me not covering my head, but why offend their feelings and show my arms or too much parts of my legs ? mirjam

By the way i got many congrats from people about "My... unusual/ spring time / chic / a bit hipy /colorful/ typical you / only you can wear this / you probably brought it from Belgium or France/now we see you are rich/who lent it to you/where did you find the cloth ???... skirt.....But as 300 at least saw me this is , by the way all commemts were made by women ??? only one male commented that his wife should dress like this !!! mirjam

I think it's exelent to have ones own style! But I am quite ordinary! LOL! Earlier I was more inventive and used to make own clothes, but may be... when I'm a BIT older and don't go to school anymore!
I love hats, and I could wear many types, weird hats, dramatic hats... BUT then I started to use glasses, and suddenly my exciting hats made me: NOT only a grandmother,(which had been OK, LOL) But a dull middle aged, grey, outworn "nobody" under a ridiculous hat, just like how you feel on your worst days! ;-)
And I am still seaching for a "hat shape" which still can get me: "BLOSSOM!!!" Here is the Easter hat I made two years ago, but I could clarely see it was NOT meant for me:

We all go through phases in life ,, from 40-60 i wore my hair loose , at 60 i did what i did between 20-40 i collected my hair up ... Remember not only we change , the trends chamge thus now your self knows what is better for you ,,, and you play with it .. like an actress showing your different roles with the clothes you wear!!!

There are some jobs that need one to look overall a little more conservative, I think, but one can always wear inventive touches and be even more so at the weekend!!
But if the hat gives you pleasure then *you* will lend *it* charm and beauty and it will all be far from dull! I think glowing from the inside is the very best kind of beauty.

Aha Come On what is real in looks , i learned my lesson years ago , 2 women visited me ,,, 1 said i am FAT i weigh 50 Kg , the 2nd said I am skinny i weigh 50 kg , and me that at the time weighted the same , didn`t think i was fat , nore skinny i thought i looked ok. Whenever i have to meet an unknown person i say i am esily recognizeable "The Chic with the white hair !!!!" , Looking at my colleagues and friends who all were Beautiful woman when young, And some are now different , Too many of those beauties now walk around with this Sour faces , that say" where is my Beauty ?" ,,, i realized that not having been a beauty inmy youth nore in later life , it is probably my turn to become a beautiful old lady ,,,, and i decided that this is what i am to me !!!!Others will always say or remark something.

Well , i have some of those others telling me all the time how i look , and i count to 10 ,,, not to tell them how they look , than i decided that i should look as good as i feel i look good in. My accident in my ankles has made not able to wear some of my better looking shoes , thus waht, it either wearinf good shoes that fit me and are comfotable or not ,,,, if i feel comfortable i look beter at ease thus look BETTER in general ,,,, Adorn your clothes add a bit of color or curiosa if you feel like it . You Are not Dull , you think you look dull , thus change that thought somehow ,,, the opportubities are great . Now that i keep my hair up i put colored clips matching my clothes under my raised hair , many women think it funny , many think it is a great idea , clips now come in wonderful colors they are cheap , you can push then in short and long hairs and make a little Color dot in your hair ,,, A wool flower matching your sweater on your skirt /pants bag is a point of fun ....Bring the spark into your heart !!! and than it will shine outside !!!!
