Wenche Jensen Norwegian sweater patterns

Aug 08, 2005 4 Replies

Hi all,

Does anyone remember/have the Wenche Jensen sweater DAK files? She had a lot of free Norwegian sweater patterns, and I can't find them anywhere, and now that I've got DAK and a new sponge bar, I was hoping to try them out on my knitting machine. I do remember one name for her sweaters she had was "Northern Lights". I *THINK* another was called "Victoria" or "Victorian".

Anyway, the computer I had the zip file saved on has crashed, and the other doesn't have that zip file, so I'm hoping some other knitter will have her files now that I can finally find time to make a Norwegian fair isle sweater.

I checked the www.groups.google archive, and found them mentioned, and I also checked the internet archive, but so far I've had no luck in locating the patterns.

Sign me a hopeful American Norskie!

Julie, I have tried to google for wenche jensen in Norwegian, but cannot find any WJ with connection to knitting; sorry! Aud ;-)

Aud,

Thanks for looking for me. I don't speak much Norwegian, being the

4th generation in America on my Norwegian side.

I did get a response after posting the same request to the rec.crafts.textiles.machine-knit group from someone who possibly still has the files, since they were designed for knitting machines.

I don't know if this will help any but if you like to check this site out

A google search for a Northern Lights sweater gave me this:

formatting link
book is entitled Fair Isle Sweaters for Men (Book # 26), and searchingthrough the site, it appears the disk number associated with it it FI1. Thecompany is in Manchester, and I personally know nothing about them, but thesite looks real interesting. Good luck.-- Carey in MA
