grinding Murano

Is there any reason why I shouldn't be able to wet grind the top opening of a couple of Murano blown fixtures? I need to expand the opening on the top to go over sockets, and I'm scared shitless they may decide to fracture or explode.

You should be able to, those guys anneal most of their stuff pretty well, I have ground several vases before with great results.
