Intro.. again

Hello all.

I used to read rctn regularly many years ago, then I fell out of the habit of newsgroups, I fell out of the habit of cross stitching, my life became insanely busy with other things, etc.

Recently, something that had been filling my time ceased to be a part of my life, and I've been doing a lot of contemplation to figure out how to fill my days again. The one thing that I'd always wanted to get back to was stitching, so I decided to get newsgroups working on my computer again, track down rctn, and hope that reading it would help me reconnect with my stitching muse.

My name is Cari, I live in Southern Maryland with my husband of almost

10 years, two cats, and a German Shepherd Dog. I used to love Teresa Wentzler designs best, although the only one I ever finished was Stitch. :) I tend to like fantasy, asian, and egyptian patterns the best.

I guess that's it. I'm looking forward to rekindling the desire. I hope I can!

Or take off in some new direction and try your hand at a different kind of stitching this time around.

It's probably not that exciting to anyone. My husband and I were involved in the judge community for a card game called Magic: The Gathering. Involved to the point where it was something I devoted 40+ hours a week on a volunteer basis. Not to mention lots of traveling all over the world and many weekends of tournaments and conventions.

My neighbor's sons were involved with that crew for a while. ( I think the oldest still is, but he's away in college now.)

Sounds like as big a commitment as hockey!

Welcome back! And keep tuned for when the DC area crew do another get together - if you're not way too far south you could come on up!
