Hello again

Hello to all who remember me. I have had a real problem getting down to anything at all, particularly quilt related. I think its the time of year with the short. However I hope I am on the "come back"so to speak.I turned out my basket of my own made batiks and dyed fabrics and decided that there is no point in keeping them, just to fondle. I have chopped some of them up and made an Autumn WH. It has spurred me on. I have also made a baby quilt .Now working on 2 more. Maybe I have turned the corner. I do hope so. They are in the quilt folder at the beginning. Please take a look if you have time.

Hi Estelle, good to hear from you again.

I do like the Autumn WH, it has perfect colours for this time of year. Good luck in getting out the "hole", I too find that small pieces of work can give a sense of achievement very quickly.

Lovely to see you Estelle; the leafy fabric is gorgeous. How did you do it? Not that even that would get me into dyeing! but I'm sure lots of people here would love to know. . In message , EstelleUK writes

Thankyou Pat.These pieces are about 2 years old. It involved my wax pot!! I dyed the fabric a light colour first as normal, dried it ,then waxed some leaves. Then I think it was a green colour dye, dries again, more wax leaves added .Then I believe it was red, more wax leaves and finally brown/ black dye.All done with procion dyes. Some of the other pieces were just silk, vinegar and dye in the microwave for a minute of two.All very good fun. I have still a huge pile of hand dyed fabric but these were my favorite pieces. And they are NOT even purple!lol.

Estelle, I wondered what had happened that you were so quiet. Great to see you and it definitely looks to me like you've 'turned the corner.' I like the colors and movement in the wall hanging. And the baby quilt is just adorable. I love the little dragons and the solids are perfect with the disappearing 9-patch. Welcome back!

Well, I would say you've been busy, even tho it was "just dyeing fabric"!!! LOL Those leaves are terrific. All my favorite colors! You'll get in the swing of things in your own good time. Don't fret, and it will happen. Good to "see" you again!
