Das Boot, Das Boot, too

Or should it be TWO? One for the Right Foot and one for the Other Right Foot. (Remember those 'moon boots'? These look like them only they're 'gray' and have Velcro straps to keep them 'together' )

Yuppers, did it Royally this time.

Thursday, I got the cast off the Other Right Foot that had the surgery which was replaced with das Boot and another one put on the Right Foot immediately after.

Seems like 'touching' the foot post at 1 AM ( using the flashlight to 'see' my way wasn't enuf to keep me from bumping the footpost on the bed) was just enuf to crack the lil toe on the R with a repercussion stress fracture on the outside middle of the foot bone. The bedpost is now 'encased' in a 'foam can cover' and my foot is encased in Das boot #2 for a starter of 3 weeks and we'll go from there with the possibility of 6. At least this little side step hasn't hurt....so far....or the distraction of wearing 2 at the same time has overwhelmed it.

Anyhow, the Foot Dr and Mr Joe had a discussion as to whether or not *I* need to be encased in foam or if everything in the entire house should be.......

In the meantime, I have to keep BOTH feet up all day and elevated all night. (I get up for short breaks every 'end of movie' to keep the circulation going but not for very long as they 'swell' quite quickly as of yet. Have watched more Westerns and black/white movies in the last 6 weeks than I have in ages...and Mr Joe brings 20 books at a time from the library for me to help 'keep my sanity'. Some of these movies have some NEAT Quilts on their beds!!!

This might just the right time for getting Pfoebe cleaned and oiled for when I get them off...don't you think?

Still can't be on here for very long as das Boot/das Boot 2 will NOT fit under the desk--and have room to 'keep them up'...so I'll sneak in here just before bed to catch up.

Butterfly (doing the Mash--the Monster Mash

-or went skiing at Lake Tahoe as the weatherman DID say they had had snow up there--but I skied right past it

Oh my goodness, Butterfly, how awful. Yes. I think padding both you and the furniture ( and doors) is a good idea. We spent one night here in the Swamp in the dark. How dark was it in here? Really, really dark. Night two: I had enough night lights going to make it easy for incoming planes to land safely. None of that bumbling around in the dark for this old girl. Polly

And add industrial strength flashlight to the bedside stand plus reflective tape on the offending areas! Do they make sensors that can attach to Das Boots that will sound if you get too close to a stationary object like door frame or bedpost?

So sorry to hear this. Bet you can have fun with the local, making up stories how you happen to have two boots on...
