Two new pictures in my Quilts 2010 album

I traced all the parts for the miniature feathered star quilt, called Starlight, back in 1995 when I saw the pattern in a Miniature Quilts magazine. I'm glad that I waited to make it, as it was VERY difficult! I still have more quilting to do in the setting block and triangles, and also in the final border. I used a quarter to show the size of the pieces.

The second little quilt (13x15) is called Ode to Hallowe'en. The pattern is from Kaaren at The Painted Quilt blog. The link to the pattern is here:

I wanted to try back-basting, so I chose this small project. It worked quite well, even on the tiny pieces. I needle-turned the applique, and hand embroidered the rest. It only has two rows of machine quilting, but I think it is really cute.

I can't believe those tiny feathers! How did you do that? I'm assuming they're paper-pieced, but still almost microscopic. I'm very, very impressed. Now, would you make one for me?? And I also very much like the Halloween quilt. How cute. And needle-turning those tiny little pieces is heroic in my book.
